Walk for Congolese Women


In an endeavor to raise cognisance and support for female victims of force and assault in the Democratic Democracy of Zaire, Mr Yaka Kumungi and the African Eye of Michigan took action in their community in Yard Rapids. Mister Kumungi organise an event that conveyed over 200 women and manpowers from the community together for a walking circuit, special presentations, and traditional African music and dance.

Participants in the Walk for Congolese Women walked up to 6 mis! For those who were n't up to the 6 mile trek, there were presentations by local community leaders from the YWCA and local churches. Chairman for Congolese Women Jeannette Kabanda too verbalise about her experience as a witnesser to force in the Congo. The day endwise a celebratory note with traditional African music and dance.
